June 14-30, the 13th International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS), the 19th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED), and the 5th Annual ACM Conference on Learning at Scale (L@S) was held in London, the United Kingdom. Dr. Yu Lu, the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Advanced Innovation Center for Future Education (AICFE), Researcher Dr. Penghe Chen, Assistant Researcher Chen Chen, and Dr. Lishan Zhang from the Learning Science Laboratory attended conferences while their research papers were accepted by the AIED and L@S.
Dr. Yu Lu, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, introducing the work of the Center
At the conference, Dr. Yu Lu introduced the educational robot based on the SDT (Self-determination Theory) motivation theory as design principles and the application of voice interaction, knowledge graph, emotion recognition and other technologies, and showed the video of the robot in learning scene. Which aroused strong interest of the audience.

Dr. Penghe Chen shared research project on the educational knowledge graph construction: An Automatic Knowledge Graph Construction System for K-12 Education. Dr. Chen mainly introduced the educational concept recognition through the CRF model and the concept relation recognition using probabilistic association rule mining algorithm. By taking mathematics as an example, a demonstrative knowledge graph was presented. Many scholars were interested in the educational knowledge graph, and conducted in-depth communication and with Dr. Chen.
