Attention Training System Based on Neural Feedback


This project is proposed to develop a neural feedback system for the attention training of primary and middle school students by combining relevant theoretical achievements and research methods of cognitive science and information science. Researchers will carry out research and development focusing on the following issues:

1.        To customize portable EEG systems and design game plots and interfaces for the attention training system of primary and middle school students based on their cognitive level and group characteristics;

2.        To develop accurate attention enhancement training programs, analyze the user’s attention ability from more particular perspectives like the breadth and concentration of attention; design games to precisely improve the users’ abilities in auditory and visual search, multi-target detection and tracking, and interference suppression in a balanced way;

3.        To set the ubiquitous attention training environment where the users can connect the portable EEG acquisition device with the computer or mobile phone through the Bluetooth technology for EEG feedback training, and receive training by playing APP puzzle games in the mobile phone;

4.        To evaluate the training effects of the system objectively, depicting the behavior indicators and the change rules of neural function activities in the primary and middle school students’ attention training.
