Dr. Yanjie Song of the Hong Kong University of Education Visited the Center and Delivered an Academic Lecture on Mobile Learning
Dr. Yanjie Song of the Hong Kong University of Education was invited to visit Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Future Education from August 9 to 10, 2016. Prof. Shengquan Yu, the Executive Director, Tom Tang, the Director of International Cooperation Office, and Xianmin Yang, Associate Professor of Jiangsu Normal University attended this exchange meeting.
Prof. Yu first introduced the background and research directions of the center. Then, Dr. Song shared her research achievements and ongoing projects with attendees. Prof. Yu said that it is welcomed for Dr. Song to conduct cooperation in the area of mobile learning affordance.
Also, Dr. Song gave a lecture named ‘Understanding mobile learning from a learning science perspective’ in Yanbo Building on August 10th. She introduced the development of mobile learning by quoting literature and discussed this topic from pedagogy and design-based research perspectives. Dr. Song answered questions proposed by audience and expressed that although we cannot remove the adverse effects of mobile devices, e.g. distraction from learning, because of the irresistible advancement of internet, it is the responsibility of parents, teachers and students to properly manage and control their behavior to achieve better learning outcomes.
