LACE China was Launch by AICFE and Big Data Center for Technology-Mediated Education


Advanced Innovation Center for Future Education (AICFE) and Big Data Center for Technology-Mediated Education jointly launched LACE China on September 26, 2016. Launch of LACE China activities lasted three days from September 26-28, which included speeches, seminars, and visits. Professor Dai Griffiths from Institute for Educational Cybernetics at University of Bolton and Cetis (Centre for Educaitonal Technology, Interoperability, and standards) LLP, Dr. Tore Hoel and Dr. Weiqin Chen from HiOA (Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Science), and Dr. Kristy Kitto from Queensland University of Technology, Dr. Yu LU from AICFE, Associate Professor Jingjing ZHANG from Big Data Center for Technology-Mediated Education at Beijing Normal University (BNU) attended all the activities. Series Speeches attracted around 50 audience from AICFE, Big Data Center for Technology-Mediated Education, and BNU.

LACE China aims to map mutual interests and find projects bringing benefits to both LACE and Chinese colleagues. Key personnel in LACE China also contains Li Yuan from University of Bolton and Cetis, Rebecca Ferguson and Doug Clow from Open University of the United Kingdom, Hendrik Drachsel and Maren Scheffel from Open University of the Netherlands, and Jon Mason from Charles Darwin University. LACE has spent the last three years on working with the learning analytics community, exploring how learning analytics can be best deployed and scaled up in schools, higher education and at the workplace. It was funded by the European Union and now carries forward as a Special Interest Group under Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR).
