IMS Global is the world-leading non-profit collaborative advancing ed-tech organization that values interoperability, innovation, and learning impact. IMS enables a plug-and-play architecture and ecosystem that provides a foundation on which innovative products can be rapidly deployed and work together seamlessly. The IMS began in 1995 as an EDUCAUSE project, part of the National Learning Infrastructure Initiative. In 1997, it became the Instructional Management Systems project, with a focus on higher education.
IMS Global's annual Learning Impact Awards (LIA) are conducted on a global scale to recognize outstanding, innovative applications of educational technology to address the most significant challenges facing education. This year, a bronze prize was won by Expert-based Collective Advising Mechanism (ECAM) developed by the Advanced Innovation Center for Future Education of Beijing Normal University on 22nd May.
This year, 32 learning applications entered the finals, including Indiana University, University of Michigan, University of British Columbia, McGraw-Hill Education, Sony, Arizona State University, University of Illinois, National Institute of Technology, Cisco Networking Academy, and so on. ECAM is the only Chinese product and the Advanced Innovation Center for Future Education (AICFE) and the Bejing Municipal Commission of Education are the only Chinese organizations that entered the final competition. On May 20th, Ling CHEN, director of Integrated Application Lab, and Jiachen SONG, project director of the AI Lab of AICFE, attended the meeting in San Diego on behalf of the AICFE. They gave a five-minute introduction and five-minute Q&A of the ECAM. Professional judges and public judges scored from three main aspects: the impact on individual learning, the impact on organizational performance, and the impact on the digital learning ecosystem. After fierce competition, the organizers announced two platinum medals, two gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals. The EACM won the bronze medal under the category of educational application, content and media infrastructure.

In addition, the representatives also participated in the Learning Impact Leadership Institute organized by IMS from May 20th to 23rd. This year's Learning Impact Leardership Institute is consisted of more than 100 sessions and workshops. Nearly 600 participants from universities, schools and companies discussed how to accelerate the construction of plug-and-play education system for better learning experiences and achievements.
Since ECAM was implemented two and a half years ago, the students in Tongzhou, Fangshan, Yanqing, Miyun, Huairou and Pinggu have enjoyed quality learning opportunities, stronger motivation and satisfying performance. It also promoted the professional development of teachers, and built a diverse educational public service supply system that integrates online and offline service and meet the needs of individualized learning. Previously, the ECAM was invited to share in UNESCO's 'Mobile Learning Week' with the theme How to Use Artificial Intelligence to Reduce Educational Inequity. The Bronze Prize of IMS Learning Impact once again proved the recognition of international organizations to our services.
